Use of our Website

The content of the pages of this website is for your general information and use only and is subject to change without notice. Although we do our best to make sure these pages are accurate, we do not provide any warranty or guarantee as to the accuracy, timeliness, performance, completeness or suitability of the information found on this website for any particular purpose. You acknowledge that such information and materials may contain inaccuracies or errors and we expressly exclude liability for any such inaccuracies or errors to the fullest extent permitted by law.

This website and its content is copyright of Ackerman Music Ltd. It must not be reproduced or copied without our express permission. However you may print or download pages for your personal use.

Ordering process

We reserve the right to decline any order placed. Your confirmation email indicates that we have received your order and is not a firm contract between us. This term is included to protect us in the event that a mistake has been made in our stock levels or pricing or we can no longer supply the item.

All card payments are processed securely through Opayo powered by Elavon and we never have access to your card details.

If you have ordered an item that is shown as out of stock, we will endeavour to get the item in for you as quickly as possible. If it is likely to be longer than 7-10 days we will let you know and give you the opportunity to cancel your order if you prefer.

As we ship from 3 shops, we may occasionally have to despatch from more than one location.

VAT will be at 0% if you are outside the UK. You will be responsible for any import duty or taxes due in your country.


Delivery is FREE within the UK on all orders over £5.00. If you require any special arrangements, then this will be charged at cost, please phone us for details. Music and accessories are sent by First-Class Mail. Instruments and heavier items are sent by next working-day courier. Working-day is Monday to Friday.

We accept orders from many countries. All countries that we ship to are available within the checkout. The shipping charge will be calculated for you in the checkout. Any special arrangements will be charged at cost, please phone us for details.

We will normally send your order within 1 business day. Orders received before 1pm will normally be sent the same day.

International orders are generally received in under 7 days.

Back Orders

Our website indicates whether we are out of stock. Occasionally there may be an error in our stock figures, or you may order more items than we have in stock. In this case we will notify you.

If your order is not available for immediate shipment we will let you know via e-mail. We will also give you an approximate delivery date and the option to cancel if you wish.


We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. We never have access to your card details, and all your personal details are collected by Opayo powered by Elavon.

We are fully PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Systems Standard) compliant.


All instruments carry at least a one year manufacturers warranty, and most have two years. We honour all guarantees in the same way as if they were purchased in our shop. If you have any problems, or need advice or assistance, just e-mail or phone us. We have full workshop facilities on the premises to manage any repairs.

Returns Policy

We want you to be happy with your purchase. You may cancel your order (without giving any reason) by notifying us within 14 days from receipt of the goods. You must then return the goods at your own expense. You must return the goods in the original packaging and condition. Reeds and similar items cannot be returned for hygiene reasons, unless they are returned unopened in their original packaging.

If the goods are faulty (or not what was ordered), then contact us within 7 days and we will arrange return at our own expense.

If the order arrives damaged you must let us know within 24 hours. Please keep the orignal packaging for the return shipment of the goods and if possible please take photos of the damage to the goods and of the box and/or packaging.

Please allow 30 days from the receipt of returned good for any refund amount to clear.

Privacy Policy

Ackerman Music Ltd. is committed to protecting your privacy.

No information you provide to us is passed on to any other company (apart from that required for delivery and insurance purposes). We use your information to enable us to fulfil your order and for our internal record keeping.

Ackerman Music does not share your personal information with any Third Party companies who will use your personal information for SPAM mails.

We will only contact you in the future about any offers if you have opted in to our newsletter.


A cookie is a small information file that is sent to your computer and is stored on your hard drive. If you have registered with us then your computer will store an identifying cookie which will save you time each time you re-visit Ackerman Music by remembering your email address for you. You can change the settings on your browser to prevent cookies being stored on your computer without your explicit consent.

Instrument Insurance

We strongly recommend that you take out specialist musical insurance on your instruments.

WEEE Regulations

If you own a musical instrument or associated product with this symbol attached, it is covered by the WEEE (Waste Electronic & Electrical Equipment) Directive.

It is important that products bearing this symbol are disposed of at a proper facility so that they can be recycled and dealt with by ecologically friendly methods. Ackerman Music Ltd., as a retailer of such items, are responsible under category 4 (Electronic & Electrical Equipment -EEE) for seeing that you can dispose of your WEEE products free of any charge.

We therefore offer our customers free take-back of their WEEE items on a like-for-like basis. For example, if you purchase an electronic tuner from us, we will accept an old electronic tuner and arrange for its safe disposal. Customers must return their old WEEE product within 28 days of receiving their new one. You can either bring it into one of our shops, or send it by post.

Please ensure that any item marked with the above symbol is properly disposed of, separately from normal household waste.
