The Buffet B12 clarinet was our most popular student clarinet. It has been established now for many years and is highly regarded as a good beginner instrument by teachers. The new Prodige model is now the relacement for the B12, and is every bit as good.
The Buffet Prodige is a good starting instrument for even young beginners, as the finger holes are not as large as on some other makes of clarinet.
Prodige clarinets are made from ABS resin with an appearance and sound similar to that of genuine grenadilla wood. This model is lightweight, strong and easy to clean.
The keywork is cold forged and induction soldered, and finished in high quality silver-plate. This combination makes the keywork strong and durable and attractive to look at. The Prodige model has white leather pads which ensure excellent sealing and will last well. It is equipped with an adjustable thumb rest for correct and comfortable positioning (and it also has a neck strap ring).
For the first time in this range, the required operations for creating perfect acoustics, especially the moulding and drilling of the bore, are performed entirely in France and Germany to ensure a consistent result.
Prodige’s new bore, inspired by the renowned E13 model, allows an unprecedented ease of play and projection of sound. The intervals between notes are pitch-perfect and balanced.
The bell has also been re-worked to optimise projection. It has a textured bore.
The Buffet Prodige comes in a strong and durable zip-up case with black fabric covering, perfect for students. There is a large, external zipped pocket for music and accessories. A durable handle on the top of the case and detachable, padded back-pack straps on the rear with metal hooks and rings enable the instrument to easily and safely be carried to lessons and concerts. The rear of the case even has webbed, padded cushions to make carrying it more comfortable.
The Prodige clarinet fits snugly and safely inside the case within the padded, plush lined and shaped sections. There is also a small interior compartment for accessory storage, such as cork grease.

Pianos - Delivery is FREE within Great Britain for all pianos. The price you see is the price you pay. We use a courier service and aim to have most things delivered within 3 working days.
Doorstep Drop-off only. Pianos are delivered flatpack, usually on a pallet, for self assembly. Please be aware that if you choose our courier service for larger items such as digital pianos, the courier is not contracted to carry items up any steps or stairs. If there are stairs leading to the front door of the delivery address, or you live in an apartment which is not on pavement level, it is your responsibility to arrange for transportation from the pavement level to the delivery address. Please be aware that the box can weigh 60Kg to 120Kg. We recommend that that you have help to move the box to the room of your choice from two or three able-bodied persons. In this instance, the delivery driver may, at their own discretion assist you in carrying the parcels into the delivery address, but they are not contracted nor obliged to do so.
Piano deliveries in Sussex - Subject to availability, we are often able to offer a free, pre-arranged timed delivery and setup service within 50 miles of our shops. With this option pianos are delivered and assembled in your home and the piano is left ready to play.
