Born in New Zealand Arnold Trowell (1887-1966) came to Europe for his education, where he worked until his death as a composer, musician and educator. He wrote his works primarily for strings and piano. His pedagogically motivated compositions, such as the etiology collection Technology of cello, 6 Morceaux op. 20, as well as the 12 morceaux faciles pour violoncelle op. 4, are still popular today.
The publisher Beverley Ellis has selected the first six movements from opus 4 for this edition, supplementing them with technical notes and suggestions for the development and interpretation of the pieces. A wonderful enrichment of the repertoire for beginners!
The edition is part of the new Schott Student Edition series, which offers a variety of literature in difficulty levels 1 (easy) to 5 (difficult) for instrumental lessons. All editions of the series are available in classic print or digital PDF downloads.
