The manuscript of this concerto was discovered in the Staatsbibliotek, Berlin. Its origins are uncertain, but is believed to pre-date the C major concerto. Revised and currently published as a concerto for viola, this is the original work and represents an important addition to the bassoon repertoire. It has been arranged and edited by Graham Sheen. The full score and set of parts is also published by Emerson Edition and available to purchase (E668).
