The "Reference" series combines acoustic or ergonomic characteristics of several famous Selmer Paris models from the past with the qualities of today's top design and manufacture.
The Selmer Reference 54 incorporates the famous "Mark VI" design, first released in 1954, giving a more centred tone.

The Selmer Reference case:
- Upper shell - thermoformed ABS polymetacrylate lacquer, carbon fibre design, anti-scratch treatment
- Lower shell - thermoformed "soft touch" non-slip ABS
- Integral inside padding (high reiliencee injected polyurethane foam), strengthened with a shock-resistant frame
- Zip closure
- Small accessory compartment under the instrument
- Shoulder strap with sturdy D-ring connections
